I don’t know about you, but I’m absolutely craving hot cocoa these days. (In fact, after I finish writing this post, I’m going to go make myself a cup!). If you’ve ever worried that the cocoa you’re making isn’t good for you, here’s a recipe that will totally zap those worries.
Lauren Talbot, RN, a Dallas-based nutritionist shares her recipe for healthy, 120-calorie hot chocolate with Health, and it sounds so good:
Just bring bring 1 cup of low-fat milk or better yet, unsweetened almond milk, to a boil, then remove from heat. Whisk in 1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder or raw cacao powder and 1 packet calorie-free sweetener (my favorite is xylitol). Also, optional: I love to sprinkle a tiny bit of cinnamon on top, which adds natural sweetness and may help control your blood sugar.
